Stick Window from Jaisalmer - 19thC
These windows and doors were used by the desert dwelling tribes of West Rajasthan. Wood is very scarce in theĀ Thar desert & these windows were made of sticks harvested from the kair tree, capparis decidua. The sticks are then riveted together with iron fittings.
