Sang De Boeuf Porcelain Tianqiuping Vase - Large

These beautiful Chinese sang de boeuf or 'ox blood' porcelain tianqiuping vases are an iconic addition to any home. Sang de boeuf refers to the colour which translates to French for 'ox blood', a colour created by oxidising iron & copper. These vases are reproduction pieces made by hand in the traditional way.Ā

Sang de boeuf was one of a number of new flambƩ glazes, marked by unpredictable but highly decorative and varying effects. Developed in the Jingdezhen porcelain kilns during the Kangxi reign (1662-1722).

All our reproduction Chinese porcelain is made in Jingdezhen which has been the capital of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD. The famous imperial kilns have been sited there since the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
