Painted Indian Window Shutter From Bikaner - 18thC

A museum quality example of the pinnacle of Indian Bikaner painting. These beautifully painted 18th century Indian window shutters hail from the town of Bikaner in Northern Rajasthan, India. Painted using natural mineral colours these window shutters would have been used internally in a majestic Indian haveli (merchants house). The style of painting is incredibly detailed and is in the Mughal style depicting flowers.Ā

As is common on these pieces, the paint has flaked off the iron bound areas. We have stopped the aging process in our workshops
