This Indian iron bound pithara dowry chest would originally have been twice the height but has been cut down to create a dramatic and functional chest that can either be used for storage or as a coffee table. It has ample storage and would be a substantial blanket chest. Impressive carved wrought iron hasps and original metalwork binding give this piece a great deal of character.
Constructed from robust teak wood, sturdy iron handles make it easy to move and two chains are attached toĀ avoid the lidĀ falling fully open.Ā
