Mongolian Cabinet With Original Painting - 18thC

This unusual sideboard is from the Chinese province of Gansu, but made in the Mongolian style and still has it's original painting from when it was made in the 18th century.

This red lacquer Chinese cabinet has been gilded and painted. The feng shui symbol of the bat can be seen depicted in the center, above the drawers which symbolises prosperity. The two vases on each door symbolise wisdom.

The quality of this piece is exceptional with a level of painting and gilding rarely seen now. Originally it would have been accompanied by a chest on top which is sold separately (Stock Code C1427)
