Old Indian Stone Jali Work Window From Rajasthan - 18thC
These antique stone jali (or jaali) panels would have come from stone havelis, the stylish homes of the wealthy. A truly unique piece of art, this floral starburst antique stone jali panel dates from the 18th century and is hand carved. It has clear Mughal influences and is constructed from the more premium yellow stone.
The design of these windows was such that they gave privacy to purdah conscious Rajasthani women while allowing a cooling breeze to enter the building.
Suitable for both indoor & outdoor use, we suggest that you mount these on a wall or use them as room dividers.
We are happy to advise you and your builders on the best practice to safely install these pieces into your home and sturdy brackets can be provided at an additional charge.
