
Anglo Indian Bone Inlay Glazed Cabinet - 19th Century
This antique Anglo Indian inlay cabinet is an excellent example of the style. It features later intricate bone inlay designs. Very few, if any Indian cabinets were originally inlaid despite what many dealers would suggest. The detailed carving is original and a lovely callback to the styles developing in Europe. It is constructed from teak wood.Ā
This piece separates into two sections. The bottom section has two large drawers and two smaller ones, while the top has outward opening doors and an elegantly carved crown. A wooden shelf separates the interior compartment.

Arabic scripture can be found on the top of the bottom section giving the name of the previous owner, Hassan, and the date.
